26 Jan 2025 – NRM Liberation Day
16 Feb 2025 – Archbishop Janani Luwum Memorial Day
30 Mar 2025  – Eid al-Fitr (date may vary each year)
18 Apr 2025 – Good Friday
21 Apr 2025 – Easter Monday
01 May 2025 – Labour Day
03 Jun 2025 – Uganda Martyrs’ Day
06 Jun 2025  – Eid al-Adha (date may vary each year)
09 Jun 2025 – National Heroes Day
09 Oct 2025 – Independence Day
25 Dec 2025 – Christmas Day
26 Dec 2025 – Boxing Day

Working on Public Holidays in Uganda:

According to Uganda’s Employment Act and Public Holidays Act (Cap 255):
- A public holiday is a paid non-working day for all employees.
- If you work on a public holiday, you are entitled to double pay
(200% of your daily wage) or an extra day off in lieu.
- If a public holiday falls during your annual leave, it is not counted as a leave day—you get another day off!

Paid leave Uganda law:

- If a public holiday falls during your annual leave, it is not counted as a leave day!
- Holiday Work Pay – Employees working on those official holidays must receive 2× their normal pay.

Eid holidays dates:

The Public Holidays Act, Cap 255 of Uganda includes a provision that allows the President to declare additional holidays by notice in the Gazette.

Every year, the Office of the President, in consultation with the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), officially announces the exact dates for:
Eid al-Fitr (festival marking the end of Ramadan)
Eid al-Adha (festival of sacrifice)
